connection.....a Jamaican who is resident in the US etc etc but is an American group who run similar tings in Florida....dem is awaiting proof of payment before the offer is passed on to the relevant bodies

The Eddie Seaga lead government paid the Matalon's J$14 million for the property in the early eighties, the JA dollar was alot more then than it is now.

Dr D, I had the same thought when I drove buy...where are the cottages? I think they gave it a special ambiance. I do remember the tennis court.

Bayside had it all back then. I remember the Supermarket, pharmacy and game room.

Fellow &quot;Portmorites&quot; do you remember when someone had a &quot;little movie theatre&quot; in one of the stores there. They started with a projector and then they went to a little TV with a VCR hooked to it. I think it was across from the pharmacy. I lived in Edgewater and used to walk down to shoppers fair every morning to get on the number 83 JOS bus. It would be too packed by the time if got to the round-a-bout.

we used to have community night in Independence City....one of the neighbors would do a film on their lawn and of course ppl would sell all kinds of treats for us kids...

btw isn't Genus pharmacy still there?
